On 31 December 2022, the Ghaziabad police arrested a woman and her lover in connection to a murder case of a 17-year-old boy from a different religious community. It is been alleged that the duo killed the minor Hindu boy over some personal grudges. A detailed investigation is underway.
A First Information Report (number—439/2022) was registered at the Bhojpur police station on 30 December 2022 and has been accessed by Rashtra Jyoti. The victim’s father Krishnapal in his complaint told this to the police:
He lives in the Kumhali patti area of the Kalchina village of Ghaziabad. On 28 December his son Rocky went out with Mohammad Khalid around 4 in the evening. He did not return home. Khalid abducted him.
They only find Rocky’s bike (Hero Passion) near a pond in the village.
The Ghaziabad police released a press note dated 31 December from their official Twitter handle.
The note informs about the arrest of the lead suspect Mohammad Khalid on 30 December. The police also recovered the dead body of Rocky near the sugarcane fields in the village.
The note quoted Khalid’s statement from the interrogation as, “Rocky and I used to visit the grocery shop owned by Jainam Khatun, wife of Yasin, regularly. We both had a good relationship with Jainam. I told her that I don’t like Rocky visiting her much to which she told me that if I don’t like Rocky, I should get rid of him.”
Khalid further told the police that he called Rocky to his village. Then he took him to his field, waiting for the evening. They spent a lot of time roaming around. Then as soon as it got dark, he killed Rocky near the sugarcane fields and parked his motorcycle on the other side of the pond.
Then Khalid called Jainam the same night to tell her about Rocky’s murder.
The police arrested both of them – 22-year-old Khalid and 35-year-old Jainam. They have been booked under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (disappearing evidence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
The Victim’s family

Asked about the incident, he said Jainam was having an extramarital affair with Khalid, who is her cousin (paternal uncle’s son). Rocky saw them once in a “not-so-appropriate: (intimate) condition. Fearing he would tell this to everyone in the village, they planned to kill him, the father said.

Khalid operated a shop opposite them. He used to visit Jainam’s shop regularly. It was there that Rocky met Khalid. They became friends and used to go out as well.
Asked about Jainam’s marriage, Krishnapal said that her husband lives in Delhi, where he works as a wall painter. She is a mother of four children.
Krishnapal belongs to the ‘Prajapati’ caste which falls under the Other Backward Class (OBC) category. He has four children – two sons and two daughters.
A son and a daughter have been married while Rocky and his younger sister were in school, he said.
Krishnapal said there was no affair between his son and Jainam.
