Stalker Stabs Woman 51 Times With Screwdriver To Her Instant Death For Not Taking His Phone Calls

A 21-year-old woman has been allegedly killed by her stalker using screwdriver in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. The gruesome murder is yet another addition to the list of murders of women in interfaith relationships like the ‘Shraddha Walker’. The woman was stabbed 51 times.

The Case

As per a report by Dainik Jagran, the victim, identified as Neelkusum Panna, was stabbed to death by Mohammad Shahbaz. He allegedly took a flight from Gujarat to reach Korba where he killed the woman. He was angered over the victim as she was not taking his calls. The incident took place on 24 December.

Reports say the duo were in a relationship even though her family has denied the claim.

The police have recovered two flight tickets from the murder spot booked in the name of Shahbaz.

As per the postmortem report, the victim was stabbed 34 times in the chest, 16 times in the back, and once in the oblique with a sharp object. The wound near the heart was the most severe.

The brother of the victim, Nitesh Panna, told the media that when he entered her room on Saturday morning, he found her unconscious on the bed, in a pool of blood, her face covered with a pillow. He immediately called up the police.

Listen to his statement below;

Nitesh told the media that a man named Shahbaz used to follow her on way to school and had begun to call her regularly.

The police told media that the deceased was alone at home on Saturday morning. Her parents and brother were out for work. There is a possibility that she called the man home and then he murdered her, police said.

The Police

Rashtra Jyoti called up the Korba police on 26 December. The Station House Officer, Roopak Sharma, said that after taking the family’s statement, the police identified a suspect. The officer did not give his name, saying he was not authorised to do so.

The officer said the suspect was absconding and four police teams are looking for him.

He said that an FIR (number–1287/2022) was registered at the Korba Kotwali on 24 December. The accused has been booked under IPC 302 (murder).

The Chhatisgarh citizen portal shows the status of the case as ‘sensitive’ hence no more details regarding the FIR could be accessed by Rashtra Jyoti.
