‘SSR Warriors’ Hold Street Protests Appealing Public To Boycott Bollywood, Demand Justice For Sushant Singh Rajput

On 14 June 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead suspiciously in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. Soon after his death, various theories came up, at least one suggesting that Sushant was murdered due to “nepotism” in Bollywood. The post-mortem reports said he had died of asphyxia (pressure on the neck).

Ever since his death, there has been massive outrage among India citizens against Bollywood and its privileged elite – the so-called ‘Nepo Kids’ of veteran Bollywood personalities.

From the day of Sushant’s death, a social group named ‘Delhi SSR Warriors’ has been staging protests demanding ‘Boycott Bollywood completely’. They basically demand justice for the actor through a high-level probe.

Every month on the 14th, they stage a protest at various parts of the city commemorating Sushant’s demise. They have been relentless in their demands that the public completely boycott Bollywood until the industry change its ways of promoting nepotism that creates a toxic culture for outsiders.

On of the protesters, Rudrabha Mukherjee, told Rashtra Jyoti that “the SSR warrior community” has been highly motivated by an anti-Bollywood movement running on social media platforms. The group has staged protests at the Jantar Mantar, Connaught place and many more areas of the city since 2020, he said.

On 14 January 2023, they protested in front of PVR Plaza located in Connaught Place. Their placards said – Justice for Sushant.

Mukherjee said they have also been campaigning against the upcoming movie ‘Pathaan’ as it is hurting the sentiments of Hindus in the country. They walked around the streets and talked to people, also motivating them on ‘Why they should Boycott Bollywood’.

Besides Mukherjee, the participants were Vaibhav, Bharat Dhruga, Bhawna Chugh, Rohini, Manjushree, Rinki Arora, among others. They are planning to stage many such protests in the upcoming days.

Mukherjee said that the group’s main purpose is to save the future of upcoming generations from the “venom of the Bollywood gang”. Mukherjee said that the industry and its icons promote drugs, pedophilia, stalking and rape culture, hatred against Hinduism, Pakistani interests and mindless wokeism.

He said he has been heavily inspired by the popular Twitter handle ‘Gems of Bollywwod’ (@GemsofBollywood). “The handle is bringing all the dirty content of Bollywood the notice of the commoners. This handle has busted all the propaganda which has slowly poisoned the society we live in,” he said.

The ‘SSR warriors’ are committed to hitting the streets to spread the message of ‘Boycott Bollywood’ in the future, said Mukherjee.
