Schoolgirl Commits Suicide After Ex-Lover-Turned-Stalker Makes Their Intimate Videos Viral

Tired of getting threats from a man, a schoolgirl committed suicide in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh yesterday (19 December 2022). Irfan had some obscene video clips of the girl and made them viral by sharing them online, as per complaint by the girl’s father.

The victim’s family accused Irfan and his father for abetting her suicide.

The FIR

A First Information Report (number—719/2022) was registered at Khoda Police Station of Ghaziabad on 20 December. Rashtra Jyoti has accessed this FIR>

The victim’s father, Raju Yadav, in his complaint told the police that:

He lives in a rented room in the Sangam Park area of Ghaziabad. His daughter Kiran, around 18 years of age, was studying in Class 12 at Kalyanpuri, Delhi.

Irfan, who lived in the house next to them at their previous residence, used to visit them often. He lured Kiran into a relationship and then recorded obscene videos of her.

The statement says that not only Irfan recorded those videos but also shared them on various social media platforms. On learning about this, Yadav confronted Irfan and his father Abdul Rahim.

Instead of questioning his son, Rahim abused Yadav and kicked him out. Kiran also found the videos on social media platforms and, in distress, committed suicide.

The Police

On 19 December, the Khoda Police shared a video statement from their official Twitter account, stating that the girl had possibly committed suicide after her video went viral over social media platforms.

Indirapuram’s Assistant Commissioner of Police Swatantra Kumar Singh said, “Legal action has been taken by taking possession of the dead body. Teams have been formed for the arrest of the accused by registering a case based on the complaint filed by the family. Investigations in the case are underway”.

He added, “Action will be taken against the accused on the basis of evidence. The negligence of the policemen will also be probed. If the policemen are found guilty, action will be taken against them as well.”

The accused are absconding.

Both the accused have been booked under IPC sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504 (intentionally insulting), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2008.

As per news reports, the victim’s family had registered a complaint against Irfan even in the past. Irfan used to follow her on her way to school. Reports say they had a brief affair in the past.

After the accused shared Kiran’s video online, her father reached the police station and registered a complaint against him. The police, instead of taking action, demanded a copy of the video from him. on failing to present a copy of it, they did not register the complaint.

All of this happened two days before the girl committed suicide.

As per this news report, Irfan works as a delivery boy for a food service providing company. On the day of her suicide, parents of the girl were not at home. She committed suicide around 6 pm.
