A man named Mohammad Aamir, who runs a coaching center in Bihar’s Begusarai district, allegedly kidnapped a minor Hindu girl student in November.
The girl was rescued by the Begusarai police from Tamil Nadu ten days after she went missing.
A video of the girl’s parents crying helplessly and expressing fear that their daughter would meet Shraddha-like fate, went viral on social media, triggering angry reactions against the pattern of men from the Muslim community targeting non-Muslim women, particularly the Hindus, for relationships for their conversion or for sexual exploitation, roughly called ‘love jihad’.
The FIR
A First Information Report (number 195/2022) was registered at the Fulwariya Police Station of the Begusarai district in Bihar in November.
In the complaint, the victim’s mother Sunita Devi told the police that her daughter, who is around 15 years old, left home around 5 in the evening on 21 November 2022.
She went to a coaching institute run by Jitendra Sir located in the Kairibaadi area. When she did not return home on time, they reached the center and found their daughter had not come to the coaching that day at all.
At home, they found a mobile phone of Itel company in the girl’s room. On checking the phone they found two numbers in the contact list, both belonging to Mohammad Aamir.
He also runs a coaching center in Begusarai. Since the day when their daughter went missing, he has also not visited his coaching.
Sunita’s complaint further says that she is sure that Aamir had abducted her daughter for conversion-nikah.
The police booked the accused under IPC section 366A (procuration of a minor).

The Police
In a press release dated 1 December, the Begusarai police from their official Twitter handle informed that the girl has been rescued by the police.
The press note says a 15-year-old girl went missing from the Fulwariya police station area on 21 November 2022. A case from the same was registered the same day.
With the help of the technical department and the cyber cell, the police team located the accused Mohammad Aamir and the minor from the T Nagar area in Tamil Nadu. The minor was safely recovered from the spot, the note says.
The family
Speaking to news channel Times Now Navbharat, the victim’s mother, after her daughter went missing, said (translated), “Aamir threatened and kidnapped my daughter from the market. It’s been five days but there is no update on her whereabouts.”
With tears in her eyes, she said, “A Muslim boy has chopped a girl into 35 pieces. I have seen it in the news. Aamir has also lured my daughter. He will kill her. I want nothing but my daughter to be back safe.”
She alleged the local police were inactive in the case. She said that even after mentioning the name of the accused, they did not question his family.
When the victim’s family reached the house of the accused to confront his family members, they drove them out. Aamir’s father abused the victim’s mother and said that it was her daughter who had trapped his son for money, she told the channel.
