When We Supported Family Of A Sadhu Who Was Beaten To Death

In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh a Sadhu named Kanti Prasad was beaten to death by one Anas Qureshi over a spat on religious comment. The Sadhu dared to stand against the Muslim men who attacked his attire. As a result of which he lost his life.

Kanti Prasad ran a shop in front of the temple where he was caretaker as well. The Shiv Temple is located in Bhagwanpur village in Meerut. He usually wore saffron attire. One day he was returning from the electricity office and Qureshi passed religious comments over his attire. Which piqued Sadhu Kanti, he dared to respond. It was then Qureshi mocked him soon the conversation turned into a spat, Kanti somehow escaped. Later when he visited Qureshi’s house he was beaten to death brutally.

Kanti Prasad left his family in disguise; his wife was mum when Swati Goel Sharma met her after the incident. Swati was there to cover the incident, seeing her misery she bought the case to Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation.

Although people all over social media demanded the help of 25 lakh rupees for the aggrieved family, nothing much happened. We at Sewa Nyaya transferred an initial help of twenty-five thousand rupees to the family.

We believe we cannot bring back the dead but can surely lift the family and reduce their burden. We hope our little help relieved them for few days if not forever.

We at Sewa Nyaya work towards the upliftment of many such aggrieved families who are in distress.
